Dear  Clerk  Allen,   The general information  operator  for  the
County of Oakland (810-858-1000) is advising callers that the FAX
number  for  your office is 810-334-7757 located at  the  Oakland
County  Bar Association.  Someone in charge of the FAX at  number
810-334-7757 is playing serious games with Freedom of Information
Requests.   In  an  apparent attempt to delay  response  to  FOIA
requests  they are not forwarding them as addressed but returning
them to the sender via the mail.

I am sending this complaint to you knowing that you wouldn't want
FOIA   requests  improperly  delayed  and  that  you  will   take
appropriate action to remedy this problem.  Enclosed is a  recent
example of four FOIA requests FAXed to your attention via 810-334-
7757,  09/21/95 at 12:03 PM, the return envelope  from  the  OCBA
post  marked  21 SEP 1995, received by me 9-22-95  and  the  hand
written note from OCBA that was enclosed.

Please  advise the action you take to remedy this serious problem
and  send me copies of the approved procedure currently in  place
for FOIA requests FAXed to your attention.  FOIA #442 of 1976.
